Hi my name is Caroline Jackson, I am a New Zealand born and raised girl who moved to the beautiful country of Australia in 1998 where I have lived ever since.
I love surfing, to me it is an art, a sport, a lifestyle, a community and a spiritual journey.
I have worked for many years in the surf industry in surf stores, surf schools, the surfboard manufacturing industry; I have also completed a university Diploma in Surfing Management and a Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science in Coastal Management at Southern Cross University.
I am the owner and developer of www.girlsurfboards.com, where I have designed and developed a new range of surfboards made exclusively for women and girl surfers, HAWAIKI SURFBOARDS.
On this website surfer girls and women can enjoy learning about surfboards, giving them knowledge to help them on their journey as a surfer.
I also have a huge passion for protecting the ocean and the coastal landscapes that create the beautiful beaches that we love to surf. I am currently running a campaign to Remove the Shark Nets from Australian waters (in the states of Queensland and New South Wales), these nets catch and kill many innocent marine species, for more information see www.removesharknets.com
Follow my tweets at “Girl Surfboards” Twitter and best of all join in the “Surfer Girl” Community, share your photos and stories, meet other surfer girls and have fun!
If you have any queries or questions about this blog or www.girlsurfboards.com please contact us.
To surfing many fun waves,
Caroline Jackson
